Menstrual Cramp Explained Tips & Information

There are so many things you ignore when you are young but for every woman at some stage in her life she will firmly believe that her body hates her. Throughout their lives, many women are lucky enough not to suffer from period pains but menstrual cramps can be something they start to experience when they reach the menopause. The situation can be made worse for approximately one in ten women who suffer with PCOS or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, a hormonal problem for women who are pre-menopausal. Each woman experiences the pains differently with some hardly able to do anything during this period.

The problem is getting a menstrual cramp relief remedy that you can guarantee will work every month. Most women rely on taking a pill during this time which also seems the most obvious answer. Some brands like Pamprin are made just for this reason, but other pain relievers should work just as well. Although many women prefer not to take any form of medication, this does you no credit if you cannot do anything for days each month.

There should be no guilt about wanting to live a normal life each month so why put up with pain? To make matters worse, the cramps are only part of the problem if you are one of those individuals who also has to put up with nausea and a constant bloated feeling. After some time of enduring these pains I realized that I was only hurting myself and looked into other menstrual cramp relief remedies. Of course when the complaint is irregular it can be even more annoying because there were some cycles where I felt almost no discomfort at all!

I have tried all sorts including quite recently a heat pad which seems to work but I do have to vary where I position it for it to be effective. If you have tried pain relief pills and don’t always find they work then it may be worth you trying a heat pad to relieve your discomfort. However, if you endure more painful menstrual cramps you may need to try something stronger. If this is a problem that affects your work attendance then you may need to do something about it before it damages your chance of promotion.

This situation really needs to be stopped as soon as possible so an appointment with your doctor to find another form of menstrual cramp relief would be a good idea. A doctor will know of other options available to you including the birth control pill, if you are not already on it, which can help relieve the pains. The discomfort you feel from your cramps might be a long term problem if you have planned to get pregnant but if this isn’t the case then your doctor should be able to advise you if you are in any danger while on the Pill. Whatever methods you do eventually try good luck in your search.
